| 12th December 2005 - PROACT Christmas Dinner 2005 |
Friday night was party night for the staff of PROACT Medical who headed to Nottingham for a Medieval Christmas feast and entertainment. The Tales of Robin Hood was a superb venue where the food and drink kept coming and most of the PROACT staff were introduced to Mead for the first time - probably the only time too!
The entertainment went on throughout the night including music from a guitarist who refused to play Greensleeves! A Jester (see right) who could juggle with anything you gave to him, and Robin Hood and Maid Marion made several appearances. Area rep Mark Surtees also got the chance to try his hand at falconry!
Many thanks must go to the staff at the Tales of Robin Hood for putting on such a great evening. The food was superb and the service excellent.
The evening was a chance for all of the staff to get together with their friends and colleges and celebrate what has been yet another superb year for PROACT Medical. With record breaking sales and changes to the way our company operates, the foundations have been set for PROACT to make further strides in 2006.
We wish both our staff and customers a very MERRY Christmas, and a happy new year.
Look forward to seeing you in 2006.

| 25th October 2005 - Onyx II Three Months On |
Mr Robert Wibberly of Tottenham, London was the first man to own an Onyx II Digital Finger Pulse Oximeter in the UK.3 months on from his original purchase in July, PROACT contacted Mr Wibberly to see how he was getting on.
“The first time I used it was for the Red Bull Air Race at Longleat where I was on duty. It was a useful piece of kit to have around. It’s easy, it looks nice, and it is very reliable. I had seen cheaper versions around before I decided to buy the Onyx. I brought the Onyx II for its brand name - it has a reputation for reliability.”
The Onyx II is currently available at an exceptional special offer price of £195.00 which includes a market leading 3 years warranty. With Nonin’s PROVEN PureSAT technology and legendary quality, durability and accuracy built-in to a smaller and lighter unit, the Onyx II is the only Digital Pulse Oximeter you need to have with you.

| 3rd October 2005 - PROACT Sales Team Meeting |
On the last few days of September, the PROACT reps all gathered at PROACT HQ for our annual sales meeting. Very rarely are all of the PROACT team under one roof and it gave everyone within the company the chance to offer advice and pass on new ideas.
This annual meeting is vital for the PROACT managment to convay their ideas and targets to the sales team, for the coming year. It also allows our people on the road to suggest how PROACT can be a better company - invaluable information.
As with all companies, the people who represent them outside of office HQ are vital. They are our eyes and ears across the country and without them, we wouldn't be where we are today. PROACT wish to thank all our reps for attending the meeting in late September, and wish them the best sucsess for the next year. |

| 22nd September 2005 - The Onyx 9500 Score 100% |
Nonin Medical have carried out a six month study that has led to 100% of the participants stating that using the 9500 Onyx saved time during work shifts.
About the Study - Determined to realise cost savings and improve staff efficiency, a 500 bed tertiary care facility enlisted the nurses on one of its medical-surgical units. This unit has 32 beds with an average length of stay (LOS) of 4-7 days. Also included were respiratory therapists assigned to that floor. A six-month study was initiated, with the Onyx completely replacing the unit's hand-help oximeters. Patients receiving continuous SpO2 monitoring were excluded from this study.
The Plan - Every clinician received an Onyx, which included a carrying case and lanyard. After a brief introduction, the serial numbers and employee IDs were recorded, and each participant received a supply of AAA batteries. The clinicians were told to use the Onyx in place of their handheld pulse oximeters for routine vital signs and as-needed spot-checks. Throughout the six-month study, the clinicians reported on their time saved per shift, as well as perceptions about how daily patient care was effected by carrying their own Onyx fingertip pulse oximeter.
The Results - Nurses and respiratory therapists were overwhelmingly positive in their response to the Onyx. They reported considerable time saved, as well as improved and more timely care for their patients. In addition, the hospital quickly realised that its pulse oximetry costs, could be dramatically reduced by using the Onyx. No units were lost or misplaced during the study

1st April 2005 - Independent Lab Comparison* against two leading competitors show that
Nonin's PureSat Oximetry is the most accurate at Low Perfusion - WHERE IT COUNTS! |
A study* comparing the Nonin Pulse Oximeter Signal Processing Technology to two leaading pulse oximeter manufacturers was conducted at the UCSF Hypoxia Research lab (Severinghaus) in November of 2003. SpO2 was obtained for the Nonin Xpod® pulse oximeter, and the latest models of two leading pulse oximeter manufacturers. Results of the testing showed that Nonin demonstrated the best overall accuracy in terms of Root Mean Squared (RMS). For both males and female subjects with low perfusion index values, the Nonin product was again more accurate. In the lower saturation ranges, the Nonin product had the smallest standard deviation, and showed less variability from the co-oximeter results than the other two products tested.
