PROACT have invested in the latest Lightman® pulse oximetry testing technology to test customer’s in service and PROACT’s repair SpO2 sensors for both accuracy and cable continuity. The Lightman® SpO2 sensor tester, is an innovative and unique device that can test pulse oximetry sensor accuracy and give an estimate of a sensor accuracy by checking the output and spread of the sensor’s LEDs.

This has greatly enhanced the service we can offer as many Hospitals, Ambulance Services etc are using SpO2 sensors that “appear to work” but are in fact working operating inaccurately.

As a secondary observation it has became clear that PureLight® LEDs - which are incorporated in Nonin’s sensors - are retaining their accuracy, compared to many other manufacturer’s sensors. This is a direct result of Nonin’s PureLight LEDs being specially selected so that they give an extremely accurate narrow-band output with almost zero scatter. As the output of all LEDs degrade over time, then starting with the purest possible pure light guarantees longest life and best accuracy against time.

It is apparent that many pulse oximetry sensors are giving erroneous readings due to either manufacturer defects, customer use and abuse or LED degradation. Professor Baruch Krauss (Professor of Paediatrics, Harvard Medical School and the Division of Emergency Medicine, Boston Children’s Hospital) will be speaking at this year's Ambex conference. Prof. Krauss is a world leading authority on Capnography, it's applications and diagnostic capabilities. His talk titled "Capnography in the Ambulance Service - An Emerging Standard of Care" is sure to be a highlight of the entire Ambex Conference.

This is an opportunity which is not to be missed as Prof. Krauss is an involving speaker who really makes Capnography make sense, describing innovative yet simple ways that Capnography can be used as an extended diagnostic tool, vital for informed clinical decisions

PROACT Medical are pleased to announce that following a recent BenchmarQ® customer satisfaction survey, we have achieved a company record score of 93% - this is deemed as “exceptional” by BenchmarQ®.

Five randomly selected customers of PROACT were asked to carry out a telephone survey which questioned our performance over 4 key areas – Marketing, Staff Performance, Service and Products, and Overall Satisfaction Achieved. All four areas gained a score of 85% or higher, with “Staff Performance” top scoring with 98.89%

Neil Manners, Managing Director wished to thank the respondents to this survey and also PROACT’s staff and distributors for their hard efforts over the year. “Without a solid team of staff and regional representatives coupled with the help from our distributors, we couldn’t have achieved such a high customer satisfaction award. PROACT Medical Ltd attended the 1st National Outreach and Peri-operative Care Symposium which was held in Manchester on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th November 2005.

Dr Stevens, Symposium Organiser and Consultant Anaesthetist at Wirral Hospitals NHS Trust said: "The advent of modern outreach and peri-operative care involves a multitude of disciplines and input of a wide spectrum of professionals. The objective of the conference is to bring together these professionals under the same roof to explore areas of common interest".

Delegates from hospitals throughout the UK visited the PROACT Medical stand over the two day period and it became clear to Regional and UK Managers Mark Surtees and David Axtell (pictured) that the objectives of the conference had been achieved.

Mark Surtees said: “The level of interest from delegates from Theatre, ICU and Outreach departments was tremendous and we look forward to attending next year. David and myself would like to thank Dr Stevens and Georgina Hall for their dedication and hard work in organising a superbly attended event.”
