The Universal Connectivity Program is receiving tremendous plaudits from numerous hospitals across the UK. The system aims to standardise the cuffs used in a hospital with more than one manufacturer’s monitor. Here is just one of the many success stories:

The HCA Group comprises of six main hospitals based around the London area - namely the Harley Street Clinic, the Lister Hospital, the London Bridge Hospital, the Portland Hospital, the Princess Grace Hospital and the Wellington Hospital. As a group they were faced with the core problems that face most hospitals today:

1. Different NIBP monitors in the Operating rooms, Critical areas and patient rooms, which meant different connectors and BP cuffs for all these areas.
2. High Costs associated with NIBP monitor branded cuffs.
3. Monitor down time due to missing or incompatible cuffs.
4. Staff downtime due to missing or incompatible cuffs.
5. Complex time consuming, purchasing and stock holding.

The Trimline connectivity program offered the solution to all these problems!

All the initial adapters were provided free of charge at the time of conversion as the HCA Group had already made a commitment to PROACT and the Trimline cuffing system.

Once the HCA Group had decided which end connectors they required, PROACT adapted all NIBP monitors within the group*, which enables the same disposable range of cuffs. As the Tempa Cuff range is single patient use, one cuff now stays with the patient throughout their stay in the hospital, cutting down any risk of cross infection and saving money. As all the adapters are pre-made to fit most mainstream machines, A PROACT Representative and one member of the HCA staff managed to complete most hospitals within one day. We have only had positive feedback from the clinicians using the products day in and day out... a simple solution to be used across the hospital that works!
