Nonin Provides The Proof - AGAIN!
counter

Nonin and PROACT Medical have strived to provide the proof required to convince customers of Nonin Pulse Oximetry's accuracy and durability against it's main competitors. Below are 5 key areas in which Nonin provide the proof! Please follow the links. If you require hard-copies of any of these independent studies, or require any further information on Nonin Pulse Oximetry, please don't hesitate to contact PROACT:

ISO 9919:2005 - Type Tested To Comply - VIDEO EVIDENCE

All Nonin Pulse Oximeters are type tested to meet and exceed the requirements of the new ISO 9919:2005 Pulse Oximetry standard. Nonin Pulse Oximeters are not just “designed to comply”, they are PROVEN to comply. There are 8 ESSENTIAL criteria’s oximeters need to meet to obtain ISO9919:2005 compliance. Two of them are water ingress to IPX 2 Standards and a Durability test where an oximeter will continue working after a drop of 1 meter.

Nonin Accuracy - Severinghaus Study

In September 2005, an Independent study was commissioned by Dr Severinghaus at the UCSF Independent Hypoxia Research Lab, which compared Nonin’s Pulse Oximeter Signal Processing Technology against two other leading pulse oximeter manufacturers. SpO2 readings were obtained from a Nonin PureSAT Pulse Oximeter and the latest available models from two other leading manufacturers.

Two reports were produced which demonstrate Nonin's accuracy.

Nonin Accuracy - Secondary Study

In the summer of 2008, a peer reviewed study on the accuracy of three pulse oximeter technologies was conducted by leading researchers from the UCSF hypoxia lab. The study concluded that pulse oximeter accuracy is affected by skin pigmentation. The SpO2 accuracy was further evaluated by Nonin®, using the study data at the common intervention points for patient oxygen delivery.

Nonin Technology

It is well documented the quality and accuracy of Nonin's PureSAT and PureLight technologies. It is also recognised that darker skin and low perfusion has a dramatic effect on oximetry readouts.
